That was my first thought when Alyssa mentioned the idea of ​​driving around Europe. While you're here, I'll leave you with a less important mystery: Nobody in Europe says RVing. Why rent a motorhome in Europe? When visiting major European cities, the norm is to stay in an Airbnb or hotel. It makes perfect sense if you're only visiting for a few days. However, if you are planning a trip abroad (two weeks or more) and want to spend some time exploring small villages and back roads, renting an RV is a good option.

For us, we are happy to stay at Airbnbs, which allow you to walk through big cities and then rent a camper to visit the countryside. We rented a motorhome in Europe for the first time in 2019 and were so impressed with the experience that we came back again and again and for twice as long.

On one of the first days of our Italy RV trip, we drove through a mountain and stumbled upon the most epic apartment. We didn't know it was there. If we designed it for ourselves, we would never see it. Traveling by RV gives you the chance to accidentally stumble upon such a gem (you can see our reaction in the video below).

Motorbike rentals are small, but they have all the comforts of home (except air conditioning) and even on small European roads, we can ride almost anywhere and always have everything we need. Traveling with children who are still sleepy every day, always sleeping with us is priceless. Expensive. Additionally, we always have snacks + bathroom + kitchen + shower in case someone is inevitably covered in mud and dirt.

We stayed at Airbnbs while in Europe and also used public transportation, which is the best way to see European cities. But if you want to find a country outside the tourist destination, you will need a car. We love big bikes because it allows us to see more space and still sleep comfortably in the same bed every night.

The best part of renting a motorhome in Europe are the beautiful places to camp on the foothills of the Pyrenees and watch the sunrise.

Thanks to our rental houses, we have camped in the mountains, on the coast, in national parks and in the most beautiful parts of Southern Europe. Especially in remote areas, you don't have a choice between a hotel or an airbnb, so the above campsites are only available for RVers.
