"desert Dreams: Sahara Expedition Travel Insurance For European Adventurers"

"desert Dreams: Sahara Expedition Travel Insurance For European Adventurers" - The Sahara desert covers North Africa from Tunisia in the north to the southern border of Niger and from Mauritania in the west to Sudan in the east. It has a vast area of 9,200,000 km2, covering all of China. Trekking the mysterious and overwhelming Sahara is one of the greatest adventures of our time. With the support of camels, our challenge is to make our way through the unforgiving desert with only the bright horizon in front of us.

The rare beauty of undulating dunes is captivating. Every day is different and the dunes change color from one hour to the next. Unexpectedly, we found fossils, met desert dwellers in oases, and saw camel caravans across the desert. We follow the old berber road through the wide hamada and dry sand in search of the highest dune in the region: Erg Chegaga, 300m on the road we sleep in a traditional berber tent or under the stars, enjoy Moroccan food and we listen to the scary berber. Music around the campfire before continuing our journey each morning by walking.

The bus picked us up after breakfast and took us southeast towards the Algerian border, until the road finally ended at the edge of the dunes. We met the local crew, loaded up the camels and headed to our first camp. We spent the first night in the desert, sleeping in our Berber tents or in the open air.

After breakfast, we get up and leave to cross the big plateau, mixed with dunes, walking along the banks of dry rivers. After a break for lunch, we arrive at our overnight stop at the Maribout (or tomb) of Sidi Naji, sitting alone in the vast desert.

Morocco Rental Expedition

We left Sidi Naji in the morning and had a slightly easier day walking across the sand to the 80 meter high Erg Ezzahar, or 'Screaming Dune'. We arrived at noon and climbed to the top in the afternoon to watch the sunset over the golden sand.

We start by climbing the dunes to reach the plateau overlooking the Drâa valley, walking between tamarisk and acacia trees before reaching our lunch point at the old nomadic settlement of Essemar. After lunch, we continue our journey to Erg Sedrate, where we will find a camp prepared for us among the dunes.

We continue through the sand, through the undulating dunes and over the ridges made by the wind. We stopped for lunch at one of these signs before heading to Erg Chegaga. This is the highest dune in the southern desert and our final destination on this trip. Climbing the stadium in the heat will be difficult, but every step will be worth it. Finally, we reached the peak during another spectacular sunset.

After breakfast, we descend from Erg Chegaga and find the Chegaga River. From a distance, it looked like a green river valley, but when we got there, we found the bed of the river without water. Walking on beds between tamarisks and acacias provides welcome shade and a wonderful change of scenery. We arrived at our last place for the night at the edge of a small nomadic village where we enjoyed our last fantastic dinner in the desert.

Hiking And Cycling Holidays Tour In Morocco

On the last day, we leave the sand on foot and meet our truck that will take us across the Iriki plateau to Foum Zeguide, from where our air-conditioned bus will take us on a long transfer to our hotel in Marrakech. We will be picked up from our hotel before dinner to celebrate the result. Our great achievement in crossing the desert and climbing the biggest dunes in Africa.

We have a full day to walk through the souks, medina and squares of Marrakech before going to eat in Evening in or around Jemaa el-Fnaa legendary square.
